Bluewave Alliance organizes the III Plogging Congress

Bluewave Alliance participated as an organizer in the III International Plogging Congress in Lloret de Mar, presenting marine conservation projects and promoting the connection between sports and sustainability. Over 200 people participated in the waste collection to protect the Mediterranean.

On October 4th and 5th, BluewaveAlliance participated as organizers in the III International Plogging Congressin Lloret de Mar, an event combining physical activity and waste collection toprotect natural spaces. It was a great opportunity to promote the connectionbetween sports and sustainability alongside Guitart Hotels, Fundació ClimentGuitart, Cooperativa La Mar de Dones, and Club Esportiu Mossos d'Esquadra.

We presented the SeaSpore project and thedocumentary Waves of Tomorrow, which aim to raise awareness about thechallenges and threats facing our Mediterranean. Coca-Cola participated bypresenting Mares Circulares, a fantastic initiative focused on recycling andthe circular economy. The Plogging Visions roundtable featured experts such asDavid Serrano, ESG Director of Barcelona Serveis Municipals, Andrea Comaposada,Eduard Jornet, and Mario Vizcarro, who discussed the synergy between sports andsustainability. We also heard from Christian Pétron, Director of Photographyfor Le Grand Bleu, and awarded the Plogger of the Year, a recognition presentedby Sandro Picasso.

The event concluded with an activity involving over200 participants, including 120 students, who collected waste along the coastof Lloret de Mar. A team of 22 divers, led by the Club Esportiu Mossosd'Esquadra, cleaned the seabed.

This is just the beginning of an essential movementto restore the health of our oceans. In 2025, Bluewave Alliance will return tothe Plogging Congress to continue driving this cause. Together, we will restorethe health and beauty of the Mediterranean.
