ArtMed was an innovative exhibition organized by Studio 46 in collaboration with the Bluewave Alliance and the Port of Barcelona, which combined contemporary art and environmental activism to highlight the urgency of marine conservation.
Studio 46, with more than 50 years of history founded in 1974 by the renowned engraver Joan Barbará, has worked with global art giants such as Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, and Pablo Picasso.

Bluewave Alliance and Studio 46 launched ArtMed to coincide with the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona. The exhibition highlights the need to restore the health and beauty of the Mediterranean, taking advantage of global attention to the city and its coasts during this event. ArtMed brought together 11 internationally renowned artists, whose works interpret the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea and the urgency of protecting its marine ecosystems.
Participating artists included Lorenzo Quinn, Juliana Plexxo, Om Barbarà, Cecilia Morales and JJ Walker, who reflect the connection between art and environmental conservation. The exhibition was held at three emblematic venues in Barcelona: Port de Barcelona, Studio 46 in Gracia, and BF4 Art Gallery in El Born, spanning from August to October 2024.
By connecting art with ecological awareness, we inspire positive change, promoting the protection of the Mediterranean Sea and its reef habitats. Check out all the information about the participating artists and their works on display: https://skyu.com/
