ArtMed is an innovative exhibition organised by Studio 46 in collaboration with Bluewave Alliance and the Port of Barcelona. It merges contemporary art with environmental activism to emphasise the urgent need for marine conservation.

Studio 46, founded in 1974 by the renowned engraver Joan Barbarà, boasts over 50 years of history, having worked with iconic artists such as Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso.

Together with Bluewave Alliance, Studio 46 is launching ArtMed to coincide with the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona. The exhibition underscores the need to restore the health and beauty of the Mediterranean, capitalising on the global attention the event brings to the city and its coastline. ArtMed showcases works from 11 internationally acclaimed artists, each offering their own interpretation of the Mediterranean’s beauty and the urgency of protecting its marine ecosystems.

Artists featured in the exhibition include Lorenzo Quinn, Juliana Plexxo, Om Barbarà, Cecilia Morales and JJ Walker, all of whom explore the intersection between art and environmental conservation. The exhibition will take place across three iconic venues in Barcelona: the Port of Barcelona, Studio 46 in Gracia and BF4 Art Gallery in El Born, running from August to October 2024.

By connecting art with ecological awareness, ArtMed aims to inspire positive change, promoting the protection of the Mediterranean Sea and its reef habitats. Find out more about the participating artists and their works: https://skyu.com/
